““Unveil your vanity, all ye who enter here”: after Lust and Seduction, the allegorical journey of the high-end footwear that is protagonist of the Micam continues in Purgatory in the realm of the proud and vainglorious, where Vanity rules. It is in this context that the 85th edition of the event is kicked off on 11 February 2018, “encouraging” visitors from all ends of the globe to worship the 1,400-plus FW 2018-19 collections, which are protagonists of the event.  TheMicam_masterADVVAnitaDonna_ITA_420x297.indd

Operators attending the Micam will find a fair that is even more glam, with increasingly strong ties to the world of fashion. After the successful debut of the Fashion Square’s leading designer labels (including Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, Fendi, Armani, etc.), new prestigious names make their entrance in the new Fun Square located in Hall 4: Donna Karan, Karl Lagerfeld, Frau, Nine West, and Silvian Heach. Dedicated to the playful side of fashion, the new space will also host a new setting dedicated to the collections of emerging designers, as well as “make-up and hair styling” stations and “oculus” installations that will invite visitors to have fun in between their appointments at the fair.  dsc_6377

The other new change regards the layout of the i-Kids area, which moves to the entrance of Hall 4 with the highly colourful i-Kidsquare and the most important labels in children’s footwear.

The exhibition areas of the Man’s Square and Style Square are reconfirmed, together with the shoeshine stations, while the Micam Square returns to host the fashion shows and rich calendar of seminars dedicated to fashion trends/international retail staged by the experts of WGSN.

Thus the requalification of the event continues, rewarded by the market with numbers that are on the rise: 47,187 visitors at the September 2016 edition, up +5.6% over the previous edition, with 27,880 foreign visitors and 19,307 Italians.
