Since the Melvin & Hamilton brand was established in 1988, Rajab Choukair’s primary objective has been to create a range of men’s footwear that would become classics in their own right. The collections – today as they were then – focus on ‘Blake’ artisanal stitch work and are tainted by hand, characteristic element that give the shoes their original and unique colours. Timeless designs, like Derby and Oxfords, are proposed in appealing, graduated hues and embellished with laser work, while still maintaining that sublime handmade quality and meticulous attention to the most suitable choice of leathers for the type of shoe in question. Today, Karim and Olivier continue the work of their father, also branching out into women’s footwear and coordinated accessories. One of the models for next season that really stands out are the vintage-style boots with lively embroideries and colour juxtapositions.
