Francesca Zambito is owner and designer of the Le Dangerouge brand. Nicknamed Rouge since school, Francesca attended the IED MODA MILANO Institute and, after her degree, decided to follow in her father’s footsteps in the skate-industry working inside the family business. In 2010, however, she felt the need to create something entirely of her own and in that same year, Rouge makes the chain an extremely recognisable symbol, both on its own and in terms of style.

It all began with the customisation of some sneakers and then flowed into the desire to give life to a completely new style where the chain becomes an essential element, not in reference to prison, but as an icon of connection, of union within a community. So, with a play of words, comes “Le Dangerouge,” a word that encompasses the favourite languages of the designer. “Rouge” refers to the fiery red of passion and desire, and “danger” represents risk and, to some extent, the desire to break down borders and get involved.

In January 2014, Francesca Zambito founded her company in Italy, deeply rooted in the “Made in Italy” tradition. The A/W 2017-18 collection moves away from the simplicity and sobriety of past collections by proposing shoes with new heights, featuring sophisticated heels and shapes. Velvet, leather and printed velvet are the favourite materials, while the colour black is the star. The bike chain appears in two sizes, turning the shoe into a unique and appealing accessory.
