Thanks to the agreement signed between the ICE Agency and Amazon, 600 Italian SME’s, with 350 of them classified as non-exporters, will be able to access the Made in Italy platform on the Amazon marketplace, while taking advantage of special advertising meant to generate extra traffic, while helping to encourage sales in target markets like the USA, UK, Germany, France, and Spain.

Supporting this initiative, will be the investment of 2 million euros by ICE in advertising: “For 18 months – explains Roberto Luongo, director of the ICE Agency – the businesses present on the Amazon Made in Italy platform will benefit from additional traffic generated by digital advertising campaigns financed by the ICE Agency”. Instead, as far as Amazon is concerned, it has reformulated the Made in Italy dedicated platform, enhancing it by drawing from its own experiences and by listening to online customer feedback.

Italian SMEs can accordingly begin to bridge the existing gap with other global competitors: while in the world, 11.8% of all e-commerce sales are accounted for by SMEs, Italian ones account for only 5.8% of them: it is accordingly clear that Italian exports have a lot of room for potential improvement.

It is possible for Italian businesses to submit their applications by filling in a specific form present on the ICE portal. The Agency has also organised a roadshow for the presentation of the initiative with the following stopovers: Modena (29 May), Termoli (19 June), Latina (3 July), Naples (1 October), La Spezia (6 November) and Vicenza (4 December).
