d2p_0002Ending this past 16 March, a positive climate characterised the 2018 edition of Fashion Access, the three-day fair dedicated to leather goods, footwear, accessories and leather garments in Hong Kong.
The most important event in Asia for the finished product took full advantage of the peak sourcing season for fashion and accessories, with further reinforcement provided by the fair’s synergy with the concurrent APLF (Asia Pacific Leather Fair) and Cashmere World Shows, acting as a catalyst in attracting more than 10,000 international visitors coming from 85 countries.
Moreover, 227 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions including well-known international brands such as Otto Kessler, LSR International, Cerutti – Massimo Cerutti, Simpson London, Regal, Impression Imtopia, as well as young enterprises and start-ups participated in Fashion Access, confirming the role of the event as the most effective trade platform for the fashion industry.
As in fact underlined by Nicoli Shoes, buyer for a Dubai-based chain of stores:

“I like that Fashion Access is very focused on a certain kind of product, which makes it an extremely serious trading platform, where I am able to meet China and Hong Kong footwear suppliers with very competitive prices. At the same time, I am also able to learn about the latest fashion proposals and upcoming trends in leathers and materials by visiting the concurrent APLF fair”.

The vast majority of exhibitors in attendance expressed this sentiment, including Wannasu from Thailand, who confirmed:

“Fashion Access has been our fair of choice since we first launched our brand Wannasu outside Thailand. We are very satisfied with our participation both in this event and in this specific edition, where we were approached by several international buyers”.

Fashion Access once again proposed a rational and efficient division of the exhibition areas to buyers, with the Sourcing Zone specifically designed for OEM suppliers, while established and emerging brands were presented in the Brand Avenue and Design Street sections.
d2e_3176The trade fair also confirmed itself to be an incubator for new talents like the Federico Vignato brand, a company founded one year ago, which was a winner of the Best of APLF Awards in the Ladies’ Bag Designs category.
In keeping with tradition, Fashion Access took time to recongise the creativity and craftsmanship of young designers and of companies through the Design-A-Bag Online Competition and Best of APLF Awards.
Moreover, there were dedicated talks on the sector’s most important issues, with the fourth edition of the Global Footwear Retail Conference (GFRC), which at this edition focused on the digitalisation of footwear production and retail.
The next edition of Fashion Access and Cashmere World will take place from 13-15 March 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
