1964 Sant’Elpidio a Mare, within the walls of the house, was founded the Giuliana Calzaturificio of Vittorio Virgili shoes for children.
After only 3 years, success began to manifest itself and, in 1967, Giuliana Shoe Factory moved to a larger establishment, still in the historic centre of Sant’Elpidio a Mare.
1974, the child sector is abandoned, direction and strategy are changed: the shoe factory “Sir Hamilton” is founded, a factory for men’s shoes immediately appreciated for their “British” style, as the fashion of the moment dictates.
1974 – 1981 Sir Hamilton Shoe Factory is among the best producers of high-end men’s shoes, requests are starting to come from all over Europe and the United States.
In these years take place the first trade fairs in Italy and Germany and the Sir Hamilton shoe factory arrives in the best boutiques in the world.
1981, Vittorio Virgili leaves Sir Hamilton and, with some loyalists, he founds “Vittorio Virgili srl” always in Sant’Elpidio a Mare.
Also the new brand is placed into the best boutiques and in the 2000s, after the construction of the current plant, it launches the production of women’s shoes, under the guidance of Monica Virgili. The new production dedicated to women’s footwear is soon rewarded; the Sartore Iceberg brands decide to entrust the production of their footwear to Vittorio Virgili.
Today Vittorio Virgili is an organised structure able to follow the entire development of the collections from the technical and creative point of view to commercialisation on the market through a dedicated sales network.
