Unique and personalized footwear in the Art on Shoes collection from the Portuguese painter ALEXANDRA PRIETO

“Art on Shoes” is the name of the collection launched in Madrid this last March by Alexandra Prieto, a young Portuguese painter with a passion for footwear.

At a special press conference held in the Ideas Lab, the section dedicated to creativity by the Modacalzado fair, the artist talked about her work, explaining how her paintings of views of Lisbon are “destructured” through a digital process and transferred onto prestigious silk then used to create elegant pumps, lace-ups, sandals and ballerinas, together with a range of coordinated accessories like scarves and belts.

The results are decidedly original, each piece a work of art, that also goes through a stage of personalization. The collection includes lines for brides and little girls.
