Adidas: more than 1 million sneakers made of recycled plasticAdidas sneakers made from recycled ocean plastic have met up with resounding success worldwide, registering one million pairs sold, just one and a half years from the project’s launching in partnership with Parley.
In 2017, Adidas had presented three new versions of Ultra-Boost in recycled plastic: each model reuses 11 plastic bottles, which are then transformed into a polymer that can be used to construct knit footwear. The upper, straps, heeling lining, and sock liner covers are all made from this innovative material that protects the world’s oceans.
“We are working to gradually eliminate the use of virgin plastic in our products, but this is only part of our work with Parely. – comments Adidas – As a founding member, Adidas supports Parley in eco-innovation, research and development, direct impact, and education and communication”.
